HEADLINE FINDINGS
The market grew to $54.7bn in 2023, marking double-digit growth for the second consecutive year
The market is expected to reach $82.8bn by 2028. Over half of the new market revenue will come from North America, followed by Asia-Pacific and West Europe.
As other geographies increase their E&S spending intensity on a par with the most mature market, our model points to a total addressable market value of $154bn by 2028.
To meet demand, key players continue to restructure & reprioritise sustainability. For multidisciplinary companies, this means a higher proportion of group activities is now considered E&S consulting.
WSP, Jacobs, Tetra Tech and AECOM make up more than a third of the overall market, and over the last decade have grown their share of the market almost fourfold.
G35 E&S consulting staff numbers (FTEs) increased by 11.2% in 2023, putting the average revenue per head at $222,000 (a KPI that historically remained sub-$200,000 until 2022)
Total E&S consulting contract numbers for the G35 reached around 619,000 in 2023, however the pace of up-pricing did not keep up with global inflation.
Our market forecast model points to an expected 13% rise in global E&S consulting revenue in 2024 and an 8.4% increase in 2025
